Description
This is either a female or juvenile Evening Grosbeak a Boreal species that Ive seen in other provinces of Canada , this bird one of many Grosbeaks that have been frequenting our feeders this season in St John's Newfoundland. Starting in November members of a flock or maybe two or more have been visiting our feeders pretty much daily...a real treat!! The males are way more colourful but these, ( juveniles of either gender or females) look quite similar. Im not sure how to differentiate between them. The back part of our residential lot is treed and these are some of the most unique visitors we've had this year!!!
